The symbol on the left of the GDRC logo is a leaf. It is meant to represent life, youthfulness, healing, rejuvenation and freshness. You can sense when a plant is healthy by looking at the surface of its leaves.
Dermatology mostly focuses on nurturing and healing ailments that affect a person’s surface (skin, hair, nails etc). Many plants are known for their healing and soothing qualities, like Eucalyptus and Aloe Vera.
The symbol is also meant to represent “turning over a new leaf” which means to begin again or start fresh. Many patients who receive dermatology treatments obtain a new found confidence and fresh outlook.
The other symbolism represented in the stem of the leaf is a hint at the eternity symbol ∞. This is to hint at the feeling of being young forever and feeling reborn. A sensation that many of the patients might feel.
The logo was created by Michael Valenzuela. You can see more of his work at AMV Design.
